MRSAの分類と近年の特徴について教えてください

はじめに

　微生物検査をやっていて医師もしくは感染制御チームから“このMRSAは市中型ですか？”や“TSST-1を産生していますか？”といった質問を受けたことはありますか．なぜ，医師もしくは感染制御チームはメチシリン耐性黄色ブドウ球菌（methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus：MRSA）の分類や毒素について確認してくるのでしょうか．それはMRSAが菌株によって病原性が異なり，地域や施設によって分離されるMRSAクローンの特徴が異なるからです．MRSAは奥深いもので，さまざまな分類法があり，毒素のデパートと呼ばれるだけあってさまざまな毒素や病原因子を産生します．そこで本稿ではMRSAの分類，MRSA分子疫学解析の特徴，さらには近年のMRSA疫学および検査への影響について解説します．MRSAは常に進化しています．ここで一度MRSAについて学び直してみましょう．
