“造影剤腎症”，まだ気になりますか？

はじめに

　“腎機能が悪い場合には造影CTは禁忌である”，これは臨床の現場であたかも“常識”のように語られている．しかし，実際のところこの考え方は前時代的であり，いわゆる“造影剤腎症”にかかわる迷信に対して，正しい見識が広まる必要性を感じさせられる．

　結論だけ言うと，ヨード系造影剤を使用するか否かは，臨床診断を導くために造影剤が必要か否かの軸で語るべきであり，腎機能に依存するものではない．そこで，本稿において根拠に基づいて分析し，“常識”を考え直したい．なお，本稿では主に造影剤を静脈内投与する場合について論述する．
