双極性障害の気分安定化を目指す光調整療法

抄録 双極性障害は青年期から成人期早期に発症し,躁病または軽躁病エピソードと抑うつエピソードを繰り返す疾患である。気分安定薬や抗精神病薬が主な薬物療法であるが,長期的な視点での精神症状の安定を目指すために,非薬物療法による補助療法も望まれる。光には抗うつ効果があり,逆に光を遮断することで抗躁効果を認める。筆者らは双極性障害に対して高照度光療法とサングラス療法を組み合わせることで気分安定化を図る「light modulation therapy」を提唱している。また,環境光を日常生活に取り入れる方法として,うつに傾く時期は意識的に日光を浴びてもらい,軽躁や躁に傾く時期は部屋の電気を暗くしたり,環境光を遮るためにサングラスを装用するように患者へと指導している。
