抄録　神経性やせ症は，精神疾患の中でも最も死亡率の高い疾患の一つである。極度の低栄養時には当事者が治療を拒否することも多く，強制的入院や強制的栄養補給が必要となることも多い。その後の経過の中で，これを必要な治療だったと振り返る当事者も多い一方，強制的治療の苦痛のみが記憶され，その後の治療を拒否する結果になる場合も少なくない。治療経過の中で当事者の意思を確認し，時には経過に悪影響を及ぼさない範囲での柔軟な対応が求められる。入院治療により，ある程度の心身の改善がみられた状態で，その後の治療方針を話し合い，記録に残しておくのも有用である。これらのためには，良い治療者-患者関係の構築が非常に重要である。
