ガイドラインのポイント
　・医学的な緊急事態に直結するにもかかわらず，見逃されたり，不適切な治療が行われやすいせん妄の適切な同定，診断，予防および管理の方法を改善するためのガイダンスを提供している。
　・せん妄の予防に関して20に及ぶ臨床疑問を設定し，系統的な文献検索を行い，費用対効果も加味して推奨事項を述べている。3章では，Key messages of the guidelineとしてエッセンスを記載し，4章では，推奨事項をまとめている。
　・18歳以上の入院患者，長期施設ケアの患者を対象としており，18歳以下の若年者，終末期患者，薬物やアルコールの中毒または離脱の患者については該当しない。
