抄録　近年，一般精神科医療において，抑うつや不安などの精神症状の背景に，発達障害の特性が明らかになることも少なくない。成人期の発達障害を診る上での難しさは，まず発達歴や行動特性の情報をいかに得るかだと思われる。加えて，精神症状の併存やそれらと発達特性の類似が，より状態像を掴みにくくしている。だからこそ，発達障害の可能性が疑われる場合には基本に立ち返り，丁寧に詳細な情報を拾い上げる中で，意味のある所見に気付けるように，普段から発達特性の整理をしておくべきであろう。認知の特徴や行動特性を評価することで，特性を配慮した適切な援助へと繋がっていく。そのため，一般精神科医療においても，発達障害に関する評価・診断を適切に行い，支援技術に関しての正しい知識を身に付けることが求められている。
