抄録　サイコーシスは脳卒中，頭部外傷，てんかん，多発性硬化症，ハンチントン病，パーキンソン病，抗NMDA(N-methyl-D-aspartate)受容体抗体脳炎，全身性エリテマトーデス(systemic lupus erythematosus：SLE)など，さまざまな疾患によって引き起こされ，それらの病態生理は幻覚や妄想の病態発生メカニズムの解明に多くの示唆を与えてきた。たとえば脳卒中，頭部外傷，てんかんにおける病変の局在あるいは神経ネットワークとの関連，抗NMDA受容体抗体脳炎などの自己免疫性脳炎，SLEにおける自己抗体などの免疫学的なメカニズムなどである。
