親との死別を経験した子どものケア

抄録　親との死別は，子どもにとって大きなライフイベントとなる。大部分の子どもは，親の死後約1年で，親との死別以前の機能を回復していくが，高いレベルの不安，社会的引きこもり，社会的スキルの欠如，自尊心と自己効力感の低下を引き起こす子どももいることが指摘されている。また，自殺の長期的なリスクを高めるという報告やその後のさまざまな社会的機能に悪影響を与えるという報告もある。そのため，遺された養育者とのオープンなコミュニケーションや一貫した支援が必要とされている。その際，子どもの発達年齢によって，死の概念の捉え方に差があることを考慮した支援が必要である。また，遺された養育者へのサポートが，子どもの回復に有効であるとされている。
