性的マイノリティの子どもをめぐる諸課題

抄録　本稿では，「性的マイノリティかもしれない」と思う子どもたちが直面する課題の1つとして，アイデンティティ形成を取り上げる。自我同一性は，「私が私である」という本人の認識と「私は他者・社会によって承認されている」という認識の両方がそろって成立するもの¹²⁾とされるため，いかに学校や家庭が男女二分法・異性愛主義を取り払い，子どもが自由に試行錯誤を繰り返せるような鷹揚な環境を作れるかが要とされる。なお，アイデンティティ形成には，認知発達の成熟を待つ必要があり，さらに幼児期の性別違和が持続するケースが少ないという報告も相次いでいるため，早期に社会的性別移行をすることへの世界的な議論がわいている。目の前の子どもにはさまざまな発達の軌跡があることを念頭に「今のこの時点で性のあり方を固定化しない」視点を当事者，保護者など周囲の人々と共有していく働きかけが求められていると思われる。
