A 精神科クリニックにおいて患者に発達障害が疑われる状況は，発達障害の有無が主訴となるケースと，本人の相談したいことは発達障害の診断評価ではないケースの両方があります。後者では，発達障害診断が必要な場合，特性の存在を患者と共有することが有用な場合，特性があるという視点が臨床上有用な場合に分けて考察しましょう。診断の際には，知的水準・性別・併存症などにより多様な表現型を示すことに留意することが求められます。
