A 併存する疾患への標準的な治療とともに，発達障害特性に対する疾病教育やそれを前提とした支援・環境調整を並行して実施します。またそうした心理社会的介入は，併存症の再発・再燃予防にもつながります。発達障害特性に対する心理社会的介入なしには，併存する精神障害の寛解までには至らないことが多いです。さらに周囲の支援者も巻き込んだ取り組みが有効です。
