精神神経疾患と腸内細菌・プロバイオティクス

　近年，腸内細菌叢が腸を介して脳に影響を与え，相互に作用し合うという腸内細菌叢-腸-脳軸連関（microbiota-gut-brain axis：MGBA）が注目されている。特に次世代シーケンス技術を用いたメタゲノム解析の手法が確立されたことで，2010年以降に報告が増えている。精神神経疾患の中では，うつ病や自閉スペクトラム症（autism spectrum disorder：ASD）において基礎および臨床研究が多く報告されている。腸内細菌叢の構成が疾患の発症や症状の程度に関連していると報告されており，プロバイオティクスの利用についての報告も増えている。従来の治療に比較し，経済的かつ安全性の高さが明確な利点であり，今後注目されるべき治療介入である。本稿では，うつ病，ASDと腸内細菌叢の関連およびプロバイオティクスの利用に関する最新の知見をまとめた。
