文献概要

要旨　食道癌に対する治療は，内視鏡治療，外科手術，化学療法そして放射線療法があり，これらを効果的に組み合わせることで根治性が向上する．しかし，それぞれの治療法は，その侵襲度が大きく異なることに加え，どの治療またはどの組み合わせが個々の症例において最適であるかは現時点では予測不可能である．筆者らは，食道扁平上皮癌に対する根治的化学放射線療法の治療効果を予測するために，治療前に内視鏡的に採取した生検組織の遺伝子プロファイルを解析し，より精度の高い予測プログラムを開発するプロジェクトを2005年から開始した（UMIN-C000000459）．さらには，外科手術の効果予測の検討を加えて，個々の症例において最も根治性が高く，有害事象が少ない治療を選択できる精度の高い治療前効果予測プログラムの開発を目指しているので紹介する．
