　狭帯域内視鏡（narrow band imaging；NBI）システムとは，国立がんセンター東病院の佐野・武藤ら^1）とオリンパス社の後野氏^2）とで2006年に産学共同開発された内視鏡システムである．

　その特徴は，内視鏡の観察光の分光特性を狭帯域特性へ変更し（短波長側にシフト），病変の視認性や表面微細構造，微小血管観察の向上を可能にしたことにある．
