節性濾胞性リンパ腫（nodal FL）の治療に関する検討では，“watch and wait”は臨床病期にかかわりなく，WHO Grade 1，2の患者においてその治療選択肢となりうると評価されている．腸管原発濾胞性リンパ腫（intestinal FL）では，その病理学的・分子生物学的・免疫学的背景よりMALTリンパ腫類似の特徴を有し，nodal FLと比較して明らかにその予後が良好であることを考慮すると，臨床病期の如何にかかわらず，その大部分を占める病理学的悪性度がWHO Grade 1で消化管に通過障害を来す腫瘤を伴わない患者においては，その治療選択肢としては“watch and wait”が妥当と考える．
