疾患の概念
　アミロイドーシスは，線維構造を持つ特異な蛋白であるアミロイド物質が諸臓器に沈着することによって臓器障害を来す疾患群である．沈着様式によって，全身性アミロイドーシスと限局性アミロイドーシスに分類される．
　沈着するアミロイドの種類から，消化管への沈着は主に全身性アミロイドーシスで認められ，消化管に沈着するアミロイド蛋白は，AL（amyloid light-chain）型，AA（amyloid A）型，TTR（transthyretin）型，Aβ₂M（amyloid β₂-microglobulin）型の4種類とされている．
