要旨●潰瘍性大腸炎（UC）サーベイランス内視鏡の必要性は，その対象となる長期経過例の国内増加に伴い，今後も低下しないと思われる．国際的なガイドラインやコンセンサス，欧米の主要ジャーナルに発表された多くの既報は，発生機序や内視鏡所見，病理組織学的所見の異なるUC関連腫瘍と非関連腫瘍の鑑別を意識しておらず，この分野の精度向上や臨床研究発展の障害であった．内視鏡所見と病理組織学的所見の対比による精密な内視鏡診断を得意とする本邦からUC関連腫瘍に特化した新内視鏡分類を開発するため，本邦の第一人者による研究グループにより本研究（NAVIGATOR Study 2）を行っている．
