　骨盤輪骨折・寛骨臼骨折の骨接合術では，大きな展開に伴う合併症も少なくない．そのため仙腸関節脱臼や仙骨骨折に対するiliosacral screwなどのX線透視下の経皮的スクリュー固定が行われている．しかし，このような経皮的スクリュー固定は安全領域が狭く，誤刺入による合併症や長時間のX線透視による放射線被曝が懸念される．これに対して，fluoroscopy based navigationは整復操作を伴う手術においても手術の正確性，放射線被曝量の減少，手術時間の短縮が期待できる方法である．骨折手術では長いドリルやガイドピンを使用するため，しなりによる誤差を生じやすく，それを解決する工夫としてドリルガイドのナビゲーションや剛性の高いガイドピンが有用である．また透視画像が不鮮明な場合には，経皮的スクリュー固定にこだわることなく，従来どおり展開した手術が必要である．
