骨代謝におけるアディポネクチンの役割

■はじめに

　近年の食生活の欧米化などにより，本邦でも肥満脂肪細胞により惹起されるメタボリックシンドロームなどの生活習慣病が大きな社会問題となっている．様々な研究の結果，脂肪細胞は単なるエネルギー貯蔵のための臓器ではなく，アディポネクチンやレプチンなどの“アディポサイトカイン”と呼ばれる生理活性物質を分泌する内分泌臓器であることが明らかとなった．また，肥満は骨量と密接な関係があることは以前から知られており，アディポサイトカインの骨代謝における役割がクローズアップされている．今回はこの中の主要な因子の一つであるアディポネクチンの骨代謝における役割を中心に最新の知見を踏まえて報告する．
