予防的抗菌薬

はじめに

　適切な予防的抗菌薬を使用すれば，手術部位感染を減少することができることは明らかである．1999年の米国のガイドライン^11）の発表以来10年が経過し，本邦でも，予防的抗菌薬使用に対する意識は，多くの外科医にとっても高まっていると考えられる．人工関節などのように大きな生体材料を使用する整形外科手術においては，わずかな細菌数でも感染して難治性となり，これらのインプラントを抜去せざるを得ないことが多く，生じる機能障害は大きい．今回は，予防的抗菌薬使用に関する基本的事項と整形外科領域における予防的抗菌薬の特殊な使用について述べる．
