ヒアルロン酸の関節内注射による治療

　変形性膝関節症に対するヒアルロン酸の関節内注射は，臨床の場で一定の効果が認められる確立された治療法となっている．効果発現のメカニズムとして，米国食品医薬品局は粘性を与える医療機材としてだけ認めているが，一方で動物実験を中心に軟骨保護的薬理学作用の報告も多く見受けられる．痛みを軽減する効果はevidenceとして認められているが，関節軟骨変性を阻止・改善するextracellular matrix modifying drugとしての効果も期待される．
