橈骨遠位端骨折の疫学

　橈骨遠位端骨折は脊椎圧迫骨折，大腿骨頚部骨折に次いで発生率が高い．男性の発生率は加齢に伴う増加はほとんどみられないが，女性では50歳代後半から高くなり，80歳以降には発生率上昇はみられず，80歳以降で発生率が急激に上昇する大腿骨頚部骨折や上腕骨近位端骨折とは極めて対照的である．骨密度減少，転倒，飲酒，動物性蛋白摂取，人種・地域差，視力低下や歩行頻度が多い，歩行速度が速い，利き手が左である，などが危険因子として報告されている．橈骨遠位端骨折は生命予後には影響しない．
