変形性股関節症の病因と疫学

　わが国の変形性股関節症は，臼蓋形成不全によるものが約8割を占め，一次性は1割に満たない．診断時の平均年齢は，一次性が68歳，二次性が57歳である．したがって，臼蓋形成不全を有する患者が，変形性股関節症の診断を受けるまでには，多数の年月が経過していると考えられる．

　一次性の変形性股関節症に関しては，高齢，肥満，運動，肉体労働などが，発生関連要因として報告されている．しかし，これらの要因が，臼蓋形成不全を含む二次性の股関節症の発生にも影響しうるかどうかは，論拠の蓄積を要する．
