骨粗鬆症

　骨粗鬆症は，それ単独ではほとんど症状がないため，骨折して初めて骨粗鬆症の存在に気がつくケースは多い．われわれの検診データから，骨粗鬆症に椎体骨折を合併すると年齢・性別に関係なく生命予後に悪影響を及ぼすことがわかっており，骨折を引き起こす前の時点での骨粗鬆症の早期診断・早期治療が重要であることが理解できる．運動器の住民検診では骨密度などで骨粗鬆症を指摘することができ，無症状に進行して気がつきにくい骨粗鬆症を，骨折が起こる前から診断することを可能とする．骨粗鬆症の早期診断，骨折の予防は結果として生命予後改善にも繋がる可能性があるものと考えられる．
