はじめに

　多くの疾患で遺伝と遺伝子は重要な役割を果たしている．整形外科領域でも同様である．筆者は整形外科ではなく人類遺伝学，医科遺伝学の研究者なので，後者の視点から整形外科疾患の遺伝と遺伝子について，いくつかの例を取り上げ総論的に解説する．
