　Microsurgeryとは手術用顕微鏡下に微細な組織を剝離したり，微小な血管や神経を縫合することにより，切断された手・指を再接着したり皮弁や骨などを血管柄付きで移植する手術であることは，現在では知らない人はいないであろう．

　マイクロサージャリーの歴史はすでに国際雑誌Plastic ＆ Reconstructive Surgery⁷⁰⁾に「History of Microsurgery」と題して詳しく述べているので，その縮小版として書かせていただきたい．
