高気圧酸素治療による骨形成促進作用

　高気圧酸素治療(hyperbaric oxygen therapy；HBO)は，骨折，骨接合，骨移植，仮骨延長などの動物実験モデルにおいて，X線像，骨密度，骨塩量などの解析からHBOは骨量を増加させ，また骨の破断試験から骨強度を上げ，骨形態計測から骨形成を亢進させることが明らかにされている．一方，臨床では，骨折の多様性や治療法の違いなどからHBOの有効性を示すことは難しいが，仮骨延長法や骨移植などでHBOの有効性が報告されている．遷延性骨癒合などに対し電磁波や超音波による保険診療が行われているが，HBOは骨形成を初期の段階から促進し，創傷治癒を妨げる血行障害や感染にも治療効果があることから，難治性骨折などの切り札として保険適応が期待される．
