骨粗鬆症と骨折治療

　近年，骨粗鬆症を基盤とした高齢者の骨折を治療する機会が増えている．適切な骨折治療を行うためには，骨粗鬆症の病態を理解しておく必要がある．骨密度が低いと骨折部の安定性を獲得するための工夫が必要になる．ロッキングプレートに代表される内固定材料の進歩と低侵襲の手術手技により，骨粗鬆症性骨折であっても積極的に手術を行い，安定した臨床成績を獲得することが可能になってきた．骨粗鬆症で用いる臨床用量の骨吸収抑制剤は，骨折の治癒過程に特段の影響を及ぼさないことから，骨折の連鎖を断つために骨粗鬆症に対する薬物治療を骨折後早期から開始し，そして継続することが大切である．
