　脊髄刺激療法(SCS)は，主に経皮的に脊髄硬膜外電極留置を行い，脊髄後索を刺激することにより神経障害性疼痛を抑制する神経調節治療(neuromodulation therapy)である．パーキンソン病は中脳黒質ドパミン含有神経細胞の変性に伴う不随意運動疾患とみなされてきたが，近年は自律神経障害や認知機能障害などの非運動症状に注目が集まっている．痛みもその1つであり，しばしば治療抵抗性のこともありQOLを低下させる一因となる．本稿ではSCSの概要およびパーキンソン病に対するSCSについて自験例に文献的考察を加えて解説する．
