はじめに

　股関節疾患と腰椎疾患は，加齢とともに増加し，しばしば併発し，両疾患とも腰下肢痛，歩行障害を呈するため相互の誤診例は稀ではない．さらに，一方の病変が他方の病変へ影響を及ぼすこともある．このような両疾患の密接な関連をOffierskiとMacNab¹⁾らがHip-spine syndrome(以下，HSS)として提唱して以来，症候学や診断学，生体力学などさまざまな角度から論じられている．本稿では，HSSの原著以降の報告について紹介する．
