強剛母趾—外反母趾とは何が違うのか？

強剛母趾とは

　強剛母趾は，母趾中足趾節関節(MTP関節)の変形性関節症が本態であり，主に中足骨頭と基節骨基底部の背側の骨棘が衝突し，母趾の伸展制限や疼痛を来す疾患である．外反母趾を伴うものや種子骨と中足骨間に変形がみられるものまで病態は様々だが，その臨床的特徴を有するものを特に強剛母趾と呼ぶ．

　本稿では，強剛母趾の診断とその病期診断，病期による保存療法および手術療法の適応について紹介する．
