椎間板変性治療：アポトーシス

　椎間板障害に対する治療は，従来，脊椎固定術や摘出術などの外科的治療が普及し，一定の成果が確認されているが，病因に対する直接的なアプローチではないことから，椎間板変性に対する根本的な新規治療法が期待されている．これまで，髄核細胞のアポトーシスを抑制することで椎間板変性治療を行う研究を進めてきたが，脊椎外傷に伴う椎間板傷害に対して，一過性にアポトーシス最終実行因子であるcaspase 3の発現を抑制するような分子標的治療法が根本的な新規治療法となる可能性が高いことが明らかとなってきた．
