遭遇することは稀であるが知っておくべき小児の脊椎疾患

　一般的に，日常診療の現場において，脊柱変形(主に側弯症)と腰椎分離症を除く小児の脊椎疾患に遭遇する機会は極めて少ないが，そのなかには重篤なものがある．この稿では，強い疼痛としばしばヘルニアを伴って発症し，手術治療の適応について判断が必要となる「頚椎椎間板石灰化症」，愁訴が不定であるために診断が遅延しがちであるが，ほとんどが保存的治療の適応である「化膿性脊椎炎，椎間板炎」，悪性腫瘍である「急性リンパ性白血病」，著しい疼痛と特徴的な扁平椎で発症するが疼痛管理ができれば予後はよく，自然緩解する「ランゲルハンス細胞組織球症」による脊椎病変について説明する．
