上腕・肘関節骨折へのダメージ・コントロールとしての創外固定

　上肢骨折に対する真のダメージ・コントロールとして一時的創外固定を行うことは，下肢骨折に比べて稀である．しかしその目的は下肢骨折と同様に，全身状態または局所軟部組織状態の改善にある．上腕骨骨折や肘関節(脱臼)骨折に対するダメージ・コントロールとして一時的創外固定が適応となるのは，多発外傷に伴った開放骨折がほとんどであり，稀ではあるが重度の軟部組織損傷，汚染が強い開放骨折，外固定では骨折や関節の適合が不良な症例が当てはまる．そして安全に創外固定を行うためには，上肢の解剖に精通しておく必要がある．
