　膝周囲骨切り術(AKO)では術前計画から術後評価まで，再現性の高いX線画像が必要となる．X線斜入や被写体回旋によるエラーを避け，確実に触知できる膝蓋骨を正面の基準として垂直に入射することが重要である．屈曲拘縮膝で得られる特有の拡大現象も知る必要がある．さらに下肢全長X線像では荷重負荷による関節開き角や膝屈曲角の変化が術前計画を左右するが，下肢全長3D-CTはこれを補正するツールとなる．ここでは，エラー回避と再現性向上を目指した撮影方法に加え，生じたエラーに対する解釈法をX線受像の基礎的な理論を踏まえて述べる．
