変形性足関節症

変形性足関節症は高齢者の後足部変性疾患の代表であり，しばしば外来でも目にすることと思われる．初期の変形であれば足関節の内反を代償して距骨下関節が外反するため，リハビリテーションやアーチサポートなどの保存療法も効果的である．しかし，病期が進行するとその代償機能も働きにくくなり，保存療法の効果が薄くなってくる．したがって初期の変形にこそ積極的な保存療法を行うべきであり，保存療法が無効な末期の変形に対しては手術を考慮すべきである．
