深殿部症候群(deep gluteal syndrome：DGS)は本邦においても比較的認知されるようになってきたが，未だ一般的な理解が浸透しているとはいえない疾患である．殿部痛を訴える患者の中でDGS患者の頻度は決して少なくないと考えられるが，DGSの診断に至らず苦しんでいる患者も少なくない．概念は知っているが診断，治療へのアプローチがわからない，という治療者も多いのではないかと推察する．本稿ではDGSの臨床症状や診断方法，治療法について概説する．
