●肘関節の支持機構としては，骨構造と軟部構造に二分され，これらはお互いに関連し合って機能している．

●神経・血管構造は複雑で，骨および関節に近接して存在している．

●肘関節の解剖学的特徴や位置関係を熟知することにより的確な病態把握や手術適応の決定，さらには適切な手術アプローチ法を選択でき，安全で低侵襲性な手術が可能となる．

●肘関節手術で用いられる主要な手術アプローチ，すなわち前方，外側，内側，後方アプローチの特徴や適応などについて詳述した．
