TKA後のスポーツ活動への関心が近年高まっており,本稿ではその概略に関してレビューする.術後のスポーツ復帰率は平均82%,復帰時期は平均20週間であり,ローインパクトなスポーツを中心にさまざまな種目が行われている.術前の経験者は,復帰へのモチベーションが高く,復帰率も高い.術後のスポーツ活動を妨げる理由は,TKA以外であることも多い.スポーツの種類や頻度が短中期成績に及ぼす影響に関しては,これまで複数の肯定的な報告がなされている.適切なスポーツ活動,定期的な経過観察によって,健康長寿への好循環を生み出すことが重要である.
