1．非腫瘍性甲状腺腫脹

Ⅰ．はじめに

　甲状腺は露出した体表部位（頸部）にある。そのため，腫脹していることが自覚的にも他覚的にも触診でも容易に感知される。そのわりには，医療者でなければ正確な甲状腺の位置は知られていない。また医師，看護師でも必ずしも正確な甲状腺触診法が行えない実態がある。本誌では読者が専門医療者であり，対象患者は前頸部の異常が主訴としたものが多数であると考えられる。甲状腺の異常であることをはっきりさせて，それに伴う臨床像，病態を明らかにすることがまず求められる。本稿では，そのなかで非腫瘍性腫脹をきたす代表的疾患について解説する。バセドウ病，亜急性甲状腺炎，慢性甲状腺炎などについて解説する。システマチックレビュー，メタ分析があるものを優先的に紹介する。
