定義・観念

　指趾の部分的肥大，色素性母斑，半側肥大，皮下腫瘍などを伴う過誤腫様疾患^1）である。Wiedemannら^2）が1983年に確立した新しい症候群。ギリシャ神話の「変幻自在に姿を変える海神Proteus」から命名した。てんかん，脳奇形を伴う重症な小児例の報告があり，神経皮膚症候群の一疾患として再認識する必要がある^3）。
