ナトリウム利尿ペプチドと内耳

哺乳動物の心房筋細胞には顆粒が存在して内分泌細胞中のホルモン貯蔵部位と似ていることが知られていたが，1981年，de Boldら1）はラット心房抽出液を他のラットに静注して尿量とナトリウムイオン排泄が著明に増加することを見いだした（ANP）。それ以降ナトリウム利尿ペプチドの研究は飛躍的に進み，現在では急性心不全治療薬として商品化され，高い有効性が報告されるようになった2）。
ナトリウム利尿ペプチドファミリーはANP（atrial natriuretic peptide），BNP（B-type natriuretic peptide），CNP（C-type natriuretic peptide），DNP（Dendroaspis natriuretic peptide），urodilatinの5つに分類されている。DNPはヒト血清，心筋で見つかっているが遺伝子が不明であり，urodilatinはANPと共通前駆体から作られる。本論文ではナトリウム利尿ペプチドのなかでも研究が進んでいるANP，BNP，CNPについて述べる。
