Ⅰ．はじめに

　急性散在性脳脊髄炎（acute disseminated encephalomyelitis：以下，ADEMと略す）は，感染症や予防接種後に発熱，嘔吐，頭痛などの症状で急性発症して，意識障害，巣症状，視力障害などの中枢神経症状および膀胱直腸障害，歩行障害などの脊髄症状を呈する炎症性脱髄性疾患である^1）。人口10万人に対し，年0.8人の発症率とされる比較的稀な疾患である^1）。

　ADEMのような大脳～脳幹に白質病変を認める疾患は，聴性脳幹反応（以下，ABRと略す）の異常をきたすことが知られている^2,3）。今回，われわれは稀な脱髄疾患であるADEM症例のABR検査を経時的に施行し，病巣部位の検出や経過観察に有用であると考えられたので，若干の考察を加えて報告する。
