Ⅰ．はじめに

　唾液腺腫瘍は他に類をみないぐらい多くの組織型，組織亜型があり，しかもそれぞれの発生頻度が低いことから，一般病理医にとって馴染み難い分野になっている。また，一つの腫瘍内に多彩な組織像がみられることがあるし，異なる腫瘍でも部分的に類似した組織像を有することもあることから，診断に苦慮する症例が多く，病理診断の観察者間変動が大きい臓器として知られている。本稿では，唾液腺腫瘍を診断する際に注意すべき点，言い換えれば陥りやすい過ち（ピットフォール）に焦点を当てて解説する。
