Ⅰ　はじめに

　嚥下障害は高齢化社会を迎えた現在，さまざまな医療の現場でその対応が大きな問題となっているが，嚥下障害患者に対する診断・治療が十分に行き届いているとは言い難い。このようなことから，本ガイドラインは嚥下障害の診断から治療の全般を包括する診療ガイドラインではなく，一般外来を担当する医師を対象として，嚥下障害あるいはそれを疑う患者を診察する際の手引きとなることを目的として2008年に作成された。そのため，ガイドラインの内容は嚥下機能の評価に重きを置いたものとなっている。特に耳鼻咽喉科医が嚥下障害患者を診察するに当たって基本とすべき検査法である嚥下内視鏡検査を重要視しており^1），代表的な嚥下内視鏡検査所見の動画を添付していることが特徴である。本ガイドラインは2012年に改訂されたが，改訂版にはより鮮明な嚥下内視鏡検査所見とともに，新たに嚥下造影検査所見も加えたDVDを添付している。
