POINT

●患者の日常生活上の障害を知るために，家族（同居者）同伴で受診していただき，的確な病歴把握，診察を行う。

●検査では，ほかの認知症を呈する疾患の除外とアルツハイマー病らしい所見のチェックを行う。

●認知機能の改善効果を有する治療薬（症状改善薬）が複数発売されており，それぞれの特徴から使い分けを行う。

●認知症の行動心理症状（BPSD）に対しては，家庭環境の調整などケアを中心とし，興奮が強いときのみ注意して抗精神病薬などを使用する。

●アミロイドカスケード仮説が広く受け入れられており，この過程に焦点を置いた根本的治療法（疾患修飾薬）が開発されつつある。
