POINT

●Wait and scanを選択するためには，聴神経腫瘍を無症状もしくは症状軽微な内耳道内腫瘍や小腫瘍のうちに早期診断することが重要である。

●Wait and scanの選択に当たっては，メリットとデメリットを説明し，患者自身とよく話し合いながら治療方針を決定していくことが肝要である。

●定期的なwait and scanを行い，腫瘍増大と自覚症状の観察を行いながら，手術や放射線療法も考慮する。

●Wait and scanという考え方の基本は，患者の全人的なQOLの維持である。
