POINT

●口蓋扁桃は外来抗原を認識する場であると同時に，病原体侵入を許す「感染臓器」の側面をもつ。

●急性咽頭・扁桃炎の重要な起炎菌であるA群β溶連菌感染の有無について，臨床的スコアと溶連菌迅速検査を組み合わせて判断し，過不足のない抗菌薬治療を行う。

●急性咽頭・扁桃炎の重症度スコアリングシステムにて重症度を分類し，適切な初期治療を行うとともに3〜5日程度経過観察し，改善がなければ治療をステップアップさせる。
