POINT

●扁桃病巣疾患は単純な感染症ではなく，扁桃を病巣とした自己免疫的機序が原因となっている。

●本疾患の代表であるIgA腎症，掌蹠膿疱症，胸肋鎖骨過形成症の病態と，扁桃摘出術の適応について概説する。
