Point

●めまい診療において,遺伝子の関与を念頭に置いた診療が重要となってきている。

●前庭平衡器には数多くの遺伝子が発現しており,それらの遺伝子の機能欠損から起こる症状はめまい・平衡障害の病態理解に役立つ。

●代表的な耳鼻咽喉科疾患であるメニエール病やめまいを伴う突発性難聴などにおいても,疾患感受性遺伝子の関与が考えられている。

●めまいに関連する遺伝子の研究は,新薬の開発や改良,個別化治療の確立に貢献しうる。
